Service Description

Signs & Sounds is a fun, interactive 45-minute class for babies ages 6–24 months and their caregivers, led by Olivia Lada, pediatric speech-language pathologist. Through books, songs, play, and sign language, this class helps little ones begin to understand words, express themselves, and confidently communicate. Why sign language? Using simple signs with your baby supports early language development, reduces frustration, and strengthens the bond between caregiver and child. Gestures give children a way to communicate and support verbal language, boosting confidence and making everyday interactions more enjoyable. In each class, parents will learn to: -Model and repeat words and signs during play and daily routines -Encourage back-and-forth communication and turn-taking -Use gestures and signs to reduce frustration and support early language -Build vocabulary and understanding through interactive songs, books, and toys Each week focuses on a different daily routine, introducing new signs and strategies to use at home. At the end of every class, caregivers receive a handout summarizing the signs and activities, so they can continue supporting their child’s language growth in a playful, meaningful way. By the end of the series, parents will have practical tools to help their little ones communicate, connect, and thrive, while making language learning a joyful, interactive part of everyday life.
